We built the world's largest neonatal health database

An unprecedented database with over 900,000 hours of monitoring that is transforming neonatal care in Brazil and around the world

We built the world's largest neonatal health database

In neonatology, every second counts. What if it were possible to turn every monitored second into knowledge capable of saving thousands of lives? With this vision, PBSF has been building, over the past nine years, the world's largest intelligent database of neurological events in newborns.

Today, this database comprises over 900,000 hours of continuous brain monitoring and gathers information from more than 15,000 babies treated in different regions of Brazil. More than a technological milestone, this database represents a true silent revolution in the way we care for those just beginning their lives.

A LIVING COLLECTION OF SIGNALS AND CLINICAL DECISIONS

This database is fed by data collected from sensors applied in Neonatal ICUs connected to the PBSF network. Every monitored minute, the system records neurological, respiratory, and hemodynamic information that, when organized and analyzed, generates essential insights for clinical practice.

These data are transformed into technological solutions — such as artificial intelligence-powered software — that support doctors and nurses in the early identification of risks, the improvement of protocols, and safer bedside decision-making.

WHY DOES THIS CHANGE EVERYTHING?

Imagine being able to predict a seizure up to 8 hours in advance. Or identifying, through video, clinical signs that assist in the remote diagnosis of a baby at risk. Based on this database, this is already happening.

Each validated data point contributes to improving the accuracy of clinical tools. The result? Faster diagnoses, more effective interventions, and, most importantly, fewer preventable neurological sequelae.

DEMOCRATIZING KNOWLEDGE, SAVING FUTURES

Another significant impact of this database is the democratization of access to clinical knowledge. Through it, PBSF can develop technologies that bring the expertise of major centers to the hands of professionals working in remote or resource-limited hospitals.

It is a concrete way to reduce inequalities and expand the reach of neonatal neuroprotection — with science, data, and purpose.

A LEGACY IN THE MAKING

The world's largest neonatal neurological database is more than a technological achievement. It is the foundation of a legacy built with dedication, research, and a commitment to the future. Each stored data point carries a story, and each monitored story contributes to protecting new brains.

Because protecting the beginning of life is the most powerful way to transform everything that comes after.
