September Green Campaign
Initiated by the Protecting Brains and Saving Futures Institute in partnership with various institutions in Brazil and worldwide. The objective of the national campaign is to raise awareness about a serious problem called Perinatal Asphyxia.
Perinatal asphyxia is a severe condition resulting from the lack of oxygenation to the newborn during childbirth. It represents the 3rd leading cause of neonatal death (23%) worldwide! It is the main cause of permanent neurological injury in full-term infants, most of whom may have their future compromised by various neurological sequelae such as cerebral palsy, cognitive impairment, blindness, or deafness. In this scenario, the disease has a devastating social and economic impact.
Agenda 2030
PBSF is a signatory of the National ODS Movement, which follows the principles of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a global action plan by the United Nations Development Program – UNDP.
The São Paulo National ODS Movement aims to contribute to improving society’s quality of life. In order to fulfill the commitments of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, approved by UM member countries during its 70th General Assembly held in September 2015 in New York.
